Keith, yes, but Paul said 'functional' 90nm. :) I don't know how he defines functional, but I would consider a process shrink to be functional when it brings a clear advantage over the previous generation. To me, that means some combination of higher clock rate, lower power and lower cost.

Intel's 90nm seems pretty disfunctional at this time.

Keith - Yes, but Intel doesn't seem to be making very good progress on the power issue, which is what I was trying to pull into the equation. Yeah, maybe beating is a little extreme :), but even to be in the same ballpark as far as timeframe goes has to be considered a victory of sorts, not to mention the fact that AMD will be switching over much more quickly than Intel.
Paul
