sorry, they did say $40K-$50K per MONTH and that is gross. about 43% is the profit margin, or $17,200 - $21,500 per month. then there are issues of paying employees and operating expenses like electricity (very high for refridgerators). with 9? employees making $9 an hour and 40 hours a week, thats $14,000 per month on salaries. did i mention operating expenses like electricity? oh yeah, dont forget RENT.

further, they said the goal is $1.2M ($100K monthly) by the end of the first year, $1.5M after 2 ($125K), and $1.8M ($150K)per year per store after 3 operating years per store. its really only $90 per person per year in a town of 20,000, but it will take a year before people shop in a market 99 like they would in bed bath, macy's, dillards, kroger, 7-11, sunoco, etc.

the reason you hear so much about same store sales for stores open for a minimum 1 year is that it takes that long for everyone to "know" it exists and start doing business there.

maybe des should look into selling lotto tix also...its an easy sell and only costs..you guessed it...$1.00

speaking of which, still hoping for that $1.00 lotto slam dunk
