in rain like that to be throwing 96 mph.....

as a sox fan im just pointing out facts...becket won the game and the redsox bats were thundering...tonights another night.

Not when he has a generous strike zone outside the plate
and a finess pitcher like Francis doesn't get the same
locations called....

Example: Hawpe called out on strikes....his third strike
he did not break his wrists, nor did he cross the front
of home plate and the pitch was 8" off the plate and
called strike 3.
Another example was Beckett's curve ball above the letters
called for a strike....that's nonsense.....
Beckett was throwing hard and throwing well.....
Had Francis had the same strike zone....
We would've actually watched a pretty interesting game.

this is a travesty, imo.
Consistency is what was needed and had it been applied,
tonight's game would've been something worth watching.
I am not so offended as Rockies' fan
as I am as a fan of baseball.
