McCloud

Actually even the decision to move wasn't an investment decision. In January of 2000 the big news was power outages. I was watching the news and they predicted massive blackouts for the summer. I said, (thinking about a June move after school was out)"I'm not going to live here without air conditioning "(110-115 degrees is not uncommon).

My wife called her sister in Washington and asked if she still had a house for rent. She did. She then checked the weather report for a break in the snow storms through Oregon. She reserved a truck for those dates and 6 days after making an innocent statement, I lived in Washington.

Although it may not have been a financially wise or successful endeavor we spent a good deal of time with my wifes first born son. He was killed in an auto accident 5 months after we left there. We consider the whole thing a blessing from God. Because how much would you pay after the fact to have spent time with a son who lived out of state before he left this world?
