1. Rate for NEC will decrease, starting from 01/01/07. (how much reduction, no mention). So theoretically NEC will get back some CREDIT for its Q1/07 payment and uses it in future payment.
2. MFL clause will be gone. (IDCC finally got off the last MFL hook. Now free to make any movement.)
3. Expiration date changed to 2015 (will be re-negotiated after 2016) from "till the last day of expiration of the licensed patents" (my memory, correct me if I am wrong).
Since this amendment is effective January 1, 2007, Samsung should be unable to make an MFL claim and file a FOURTH arbitration over their 2G obligations. That's good.
