Welcome to the thread. Wow. That's a problem. I was going to agree with Augieboo (hi Augie) but when you reformatted the second time, you took it to the next level.

On the off chance that the second reformat only wiped the first letter of all files again there may still be a chance for Augie's suggestions to work but i doubt it. ?

I agree with his advice to disconnect the drive from the computer until you get a definate answer. No sense corrupting what is still there.

You seem to be formatting an awful lot. I only reformat when I am transfering ownership of a hard drive and want all data destroyed or when there is a total trash of the data by a drive dying. (once in my life)
