cm,

Recently I received a letter from my bank alerting me of an internal problem that may have compromised my account information.

I am going to send my own version of your letter to the bank.

Thanks.

I'm going to use this as a template to send to some of my companies' personnel. Its about time. This is getting ridiculous. Even the bashers should demand better security from their providers. Sheesh.

Helpful,

Clearly we do not live in the same jurisdiction, and I may have to reassess my idea of Texan politics. When I write a letter, which may take many hours, sometimes days, and I receive a response it is a form letter – and it more often than not, doesn't even approximate the topic that I have written about. Just as often, even though I have written to express my dismay at their position - it congratulates me on seeing things the same way as my elected.

I think of the letter writing as my personal therapy, but no matter how brilliant – and trust me, all of my letters are brilliant – ;~) - my electeds do not read them. They are too important to listen to me. Instead they tell me how the cow ate the cabbage, and when I respond that they are making an outrageous mistake, they write to tell me how much they appreciate that I agree with them.

It usually takes them two months to respond. As though they were sitting there mulling for weeks what I had to say.

These are folks that I have supported, by the way – in time and money. They have a distinct aversion to the front lines. And some canned idea of how to respond to people.

It doesn't stop me from writing, of course, but the effort is clearly for my own muse. So, I will not be writing my Senators about TPMs. I don't find it amusing. Do you think they even know about computers? I mean, really it's just a "series of tubes," isn't it? And they get clogged, don't they? And so email sometimes takes five days to arrive.

But I would like to ask those writing their electeds, how did you get Congress Critters and Senators elected who actually will give you a simple listen/read?

Bully for you!
