Just thought I'd check in...

I (sorta) listened to yesterday's CC... off and on. Maybe I'll listen to the archived version carefully.

I didn't think the recent SHARE PRICE jump was the final turn for Wave the stock... or Wave the company, for that matter. It was a refreshing change. It reflected a LOT of factors coming together: New York Times, IBD, run-up prior to a CC, and then, of course, the long-awaited (inevitable, really) Seagate.

Folks, there are probably TWO more rounds of financing ahead. One just to keep operations going. Another to capture and capitalize upon more opportunities and expand R & D.

As is predictable, I hear about the "sales execution" problem. Well, you know, I guess I'm not a sales expert... But I do know enough to know that it's PROBABLY very hard to sell something that is a NEW CATEGORY... not just a new product. SKS did say that there is growing awareness of TPMs. But he also mentioned, twice, the notion of 'wouldn't it be wunerful and all if we had $100 million to educate and excite the market?'

I've got my own approach:

Dear My Bank's Top Corporate Officers (CEO, CFO, CIO/CTO)

I've been with your bank for several years now. By and large, the service has been excellent. Thank you.

But, given the recent number of hacks and security breaches and the emergence of criminal networks who can phish your employees' systems, I've decided that I'm going to shop my account around with various institutions until I find the one that can assure me that their information systems are as secure as they can possibly be.

Here's what security means to me: That every person in your employ who has computer access to my personally identifiable information has a PC (desktop or laptop, I don't care) with what is called a "Trusted Platform Module" (TPM) inside: a security chip that, if utilized by your IT systems, can make it much harder for hackers to be successful.

Such business PCs are readily available from Dell, Gateway, and other major PC manufacturers. Why aren't you buying them? Or, if you are buying them, why aren't your systems utilizing the capabilities of trusted computing as defined by the Trusted Computing Group, the open standards organization with 150 participants whose work has resulted in the deployment of now over 50 million PCs with TPMs inside?

Perhaps, you ARE adopting trusted computing and I don't know it.
But, as I assume that you aren't, within the next thirty days I intend to move my account. Yes, I am serious. After all, the risks are real. And the ONLY way to mitigate those risks effectively is to make sure that every relevant PC in your organization--those that have access to my data--is using the readily available trusted computing technologies. Don't tell me about software-based security. If the security is not in the hardware, your systems will remain vulnerable.

Best regards,
