LOL - I grew up around a lot of Polish, Greek and Italians. Incredible food for sure, but when I go back "home" and visit friends it appears that all that kielbasa and pasta have taken their toll on most!!!

We eat pretty healthy here - vitamin V (vodka) and vino are the only culprits in my diet now. ; )

Try to find some of that good midwestern food in Los Angeles.......and good luck on that search.
