#217069 RE: IH Admin [Shelly] #217068

The overall goal was transparency, less deletions and, hopefully, less conspiracy theories about biased Mods/moderation. If you wanted to see and participate in all of the other commentary that was not about the stock, you had the choice to do so or not.

BUT I think posters here need to have the right not to be attacked and, in many cases, lied about just because some members 'who just couldn't separate how talking about people posting on the board was not talking about the stock."

That is something they should have learned in kindergarten, and if they haven't, now is the time. It's one thing to exchange some insults. No biggie. And of course it's always fine to disagree. But as you've seen over the years, and especially during the time personal attack was largely okay, a great many IHubbers believe PAs are very easy to detect, and don't want others users to do it to them, even if those attacks could be filtered so they don't see them. That has nothing to do with transparency. It has to do with uncivil behavior.

What, for example, do you think of this?

The problem with the rules as they were initially is that, unfortunately, a great many people these days have no clue how to discuss/debate without taking it or making personal.

I've run into that more than once. People will respond that I don't like them or I'm picking on them when in fact I'm actually taking exception to their knowledge on a subject. People instinctively jump to the conclusion that I somehow dislike them when in fact I never said any such thing.

And as Paulie and I have come to the conclusion Sarcasm is just not understood any more.

I was paying attention to how the rules changed and am glad to see I figured it out correctly.

The problem today is people want to get into what I call running gun battles where no side wins. Just not worth the time.

All the admin folks here imo do a great job. I doubt people would experience the same response time on the other social media websites.
