The problem with the rules as they were initially is that, unfortunately, a great many people these days have no clue how to discuss/debate without taking it or making personal. That was a problem with both Mods who found generally benign commentary as delete worthy and Members who just couldn't separate how talking about people posting on the board was not talking about the stock. 🤷

The overall goal was transparency, less deletions and, hopefully, less conspiracy theories about biased Mods/moderation. If you wanted to see and participate in all of the other commentary that was not about the stock, you had the choice to do so or not.

In regards to politics, this would've solved a lot of the current issues on the boards. Many, many people believe the stock/company can't be discussed without discussing the upcoming election as it will directly impact the stock. Fair enough. However, politics are so divisive these days, the stock specific boards devolve into a mess. On the other side, many, many people go to stock specific boards to read about the company. They don't want to see all of the political posts. The filter would've allowed both.
