And, similarly, they did not PR submission of PIP, just "acceptance." Did they PR submissiion of JAMA publication? I can't remember.

While I agree with that a submission isn't a material event, the company still has an option to issue a PR for it, just as they did for providing guidance on when they anticipated it happening.

Material events seem to be what companies define them to be. When a company has low earnings, a $100K payment may be considered material, while later when earnings have grown substantially, a $1M payment may not be considered material, of course all such payments will be reported in quarterly results.

The regulators, both SEC and FDA abhor hype, so companies who don't want to irritate the regulators try to be careful about what they release.
