HL - In your op, NWBO is at fault for your frustration over the extensive waiting period. While at the same time you agree that the bureaucracy is a crippling obstacle that gets in the way, and a failure at delivering what it's allegedly there to do. So if anyone should be blamed it's you. It's you who underestimated the circumstances under which a new treatment modality would need to overcome. It's you who assumed that management, or any other management could go through the entire process without facing a learning curve, which is obviously the nature of an endeavor of this nature. It's you, who often caused self-inflicted, and unrealistic expectations by your assumptions, as you replaced wishful thinking over realities on the ground. Your job is easy. You had a choice, among unlimited ones to choose from. Not management. It wasn't a dress rehearsal for them. Those who are bitter always find a way to blame and shame the people who are on the front lines, but the devil is in the details, and how leadership responds to adversity. We don't know what would or could have happened during their tenure, if for example, they made a right turn, instead of a left turn, or something, which you have no way of knowing, other than knowing, that you haven't gotten your way soon enough. I would argue that the last thing management would involve themselves with is making choices that would invite hardship, or worse, bankruptcy. Judgement is best made historically, because in the end, it's the outcome that is judged. Nothing else matters. Reality isn't always an easy pill to swallow, but recognition is the next best thing.
