That is not allowed for on-topic views on stock boards, and there are procedures in place to deal with it if it happens...."Request Review" or PM Admin.

...silencing based on one persons view is never a good procedure to follow.

There isn't 1 person dictating anything. Most stock boards have 6 moderators. If 1 mod is apparently abusing their position, anyone can notify Admin.

Allowing only one person or those not completely submersed in the daily chats to act as a supreme dictator and judge is akin to living the 1984 saga.

Use "ignore" if you prefer to not see posts from another user. "Mob rule" isn't a good solution to anything.

there should be a vote on the board by actual posters whether an individual should be silenced or curtailed

Moderators can not ban/muzzle posters on Free Boards which include stock boards.

Admin has over the years been pretty clear so those who are muzzled should get in touch with Admin.

This not a democracy. It's a benevolent dictatorship. As is the case with every privately owned social media website. If you want a "democratic" website then create one and take no part in moderating/curating the content there. See how well that goes.

Let the board posters decide. Are we democratic or are we not?

1984 was about government suppression and thought control. Private websites are not government. Although recent events in federal court and elsewhere have exposed the government leaning too far into suppressing protected speech on the interwebs in violation of their constitutional limits.

Allowing only one person or those not completely submersed in the daily chats to act as a supreme dictator and judge is akin to living the 1984 saga.

You're misunderstanding that anyone is banned or restricted on stock boards based on their beliefs and ideas. That's not the case.

People receive sanctions because of their behavior. How they choose to conduct themselves. Admin have zero clue or interest if someone is positive/negative or neutral about a stock. We do care about how they behave on this platform.
