Yes, any shares that are owned on that date will get the dividend. They don't specify between long and short holders.

buford78, The dividend comprised of SAGA shares will be based on the current ENZC Outstanding Shares count on the date of record. There will be no dilution to ENZC shares as a result of dividends being issued to any shareholder regardless of how long they have held the ENZC shares.

“As the dividend share count stands to get diluted by Newbies .”

It is not a matter of right or wrong it is business.

Dividends are paid to shareholders as long as the own shares prior to the ex-dividend date.

The company announces when the dividend will be paid, the amount and the ex-dividend date. Investors must have bought the stock at least two days before the official date of a dividend payment (the "date of record") in order to receive that payment.

Companies that take care of long term shareholders the best pay quarterly dividends, are profitable with sustained growth.

ENZC is not quite there yet.

A stock dividend is different than a cash dividend. With a stock dividend the record date is not important!
A cash dividend and a stock dividend are different with different rules.
With a stock dividend If the dividend is 25% or more of the stock value, special rules apply to the determination of the ex-dividend date. In these cases, the ex-dividend date will be deferred until one business day after the dividend is paid you have to buy it before the pay date and hold it until one business day after. I have received several with penny stocks and profited bigley.
I had one several years ago from a bottom sub penny stock that ran to 93 cents.
Very profitable and these were otc stocks. Saga is a $11+ nasdaq stock.
What Is a Special Dividend?
A special dividend is paid to shareholders outside of the regular dividend schedule. It may result from a windfall earnings, spin-off, or other corporate action that is seen as a one-off. In general, special dividends are rare but larger than ordinary dividends.
with stock dividends, a company doesn’t have to tap into its cash reserves or profits since it is only issuing its own stock to its equity shareholders.

If/when the dividend becomes definite, with the amount that people will get and date of record, share price will potentially go up significantly if people want to participate. At this point it seems at least likely, but not definite until the agreement is reached/signed and more info as to what the dividend is and date of record. If the dividend winds up being more than the current share price, share price will increase on that day to reflect that as people rush to get in.
