The only reason to have the rule. Is does it give a pitcher a advantage. if the spin rate is the same range they are not getting an advantage. To be fair what he said is true, the rosin and sweat depend on a lot of factor, is it humid out, the environment is it a dry climate. there is no way to measure it, and quite frankly it might change as the game goes on if you sweat more. To me if they are legal substances they should be allowed, and if you question whether the person substance is illegal, than it should come down to the facts is it helping. We have technology, lets use it.

People forget you want the pitchers to have some grip of the baseball, if they don't more batter are simply gonna get hurt. But we also don't want stuff that is given them a advantage either like the stuff that is banned. So Using Rosen and sweat if Legal, if the umpire claims is sticky and the player claims it is not. The answer is quite simple lets use the technology. Can't have a rule of what is acceptable and is so subjective to each umpire. The fact that this umpire is the only guy who has had problems with pitchers is also saying something in my opinion.
