Again, what do you suppose is being learned about the bases overflown that satellite imagery can't do a better job monitoring?

Do any of our adversaries NOT know where our bases are? Google searches and Google maps surely put everything within everyone's purview. Does anyone not know what mountain in what state NORAD is burrowed into, that ICBM silos are in the Great Plains and mountain states rather than in N. IL or just down the road from West Point? Every nuclear nation has target lists right down to the degrees or latitude and longitude dialed into their strategic weaponry.

China screwed up and they are now losing their shit with pro-forma statements of condemnation of behavior that, if reversed, if inflicted on them, they would be defending as a proper response to an intrusion on their sovereignty.

When it got to NC it also flew over Fort Bragg and Camp Lejuene in SC. Both of those bases are strategic to our defense.

And so what? There's nothing secret about their location. And as the experts have been pointing out since all this began, the Chinese have a great many very sophisticated satellites that do a much better job of spying than balloons, which are a very old fashioned technology.
