Exactly. I almost always try to boil things down to simple examples - primarily because my thought processes are not on the highest level - but having been in small business most of life I give this example.
At one point I had grocery-deli. The deli became the major driver of the business, and subs became the major driver of the deli. When a new sandwich shop opened, first thing I did was send someone to go buy some of their wares. You have to know your competition.
The bottom line is that the generics are infringing on the cvd patents. To me, it's irrelevant whether they are infringing with an equivalent or inferior product. From a purely academic standpoint, it may be a worthwhile study, but I question whether the results would be actionable.
