Think tomcat means the lower melting elements may act as a flux, facilitating all elements melting into homogeneous liquid. Or if high heats indeed needed to make initial alloy, make right size ingots or pellets first to feed and melt in injection molder (at lower temperature than initially needed to make alloy). If high melting alumina ore can be fluxed via cryolite to allow electrochemical reduction to aluminum (aka aluminium in most English dialects), I figure there must nearly always be a flux material suitable for most melt blends if needed to facilitate each element melting.
