No worries!

There will not be a “windfall” on either classes.

Sorry, don’t kill the messenger

Windfall, just my $.04 (inflation thanks to the current bozos).

Recall that there were extensive arguments and negotiations to go from 70/30 to 75/25% in terms of the split between commons and preferreds. Why would that happen if there were nothing left after the end of the game? Underwriters argued and fought in court to be being awarded 19s vs 22s in lieu of staying in class 18. Preferreds seems to get a larger piece of the salami, but that doesn't mean the commons get nothing. Why argue to get out of 18 to a lower status claim if there was nothing left? Just some food for thought.

WM, no, if there are any distributions at all, and there is enough evidence to show some of us there will be huge distributions, those who owned former WaMu preferred and common shares which signed timely releases by 3/2012 will be compensated at the split of 75/25.

There is a reason the UWs fought so long and ONLY wanted class 19 (preferred) as these Professionals do the very work that shows where the monies were placed.

Also, remember, the UWs were given a FULL year more than anyone else to sign timely releases and you can bet this timeframe allowed them to find out which class to own for maximum returns.
