I tried both Crestor and Lipitor and had issues with both. Only Livalo worked for me (1mg). Sorry to hear that it’s so expensive for you.

I had issues with statins as well, raised my liver enzymes which my PCP did not like. Switched me to Ezetemibe (Zetia) and now I am fine with lower cholesterol and no enzyme issues. Cost about $15 for 90 days.

Pravastatins molecule is the least like lipitor, crestor and zocor and therefore you may not have a side effect. Red yeast extract is where statins were originally developed from
