Your take on AI in oil&gas is Interesting and a bit unnerving in some respects
Reducing and/or eliminating human error is good (automation) but AI could introduce an unpredictable factor
Can’t really test and certify an automated process without looking at all of the possible combinations of variables
Then, if the AI “learns”, it could output different results, possibly incompatible with the desired results
Three Mile Island and the Costa Concordia are two good examples of automation that was mismanaged or overridden by humans with disastrous consequences
I hope we proceed with caution in the “AI” and “machine learning” progress
