#202003 RE: rocketeer357 #202000

If Degromm and Schzerer are back for the second half. I don't necessarily agree the braves area better team it is close. But the fact the mets are almost 20 games over, and that is with 4 losses to the astros, Which 3 of them were admitting non competitive but if we are throwing Trevor williams in the playoffs, we are not going anywhere, that is for sure.

The mets rotation In my opinion is superior if schezer and degromm are in it. Braves Bullpen is better, outside of Lugo (Who comes with an instruction manual of how to use) Smith who has been very good, and Diaz who has been excellent, the rest of the guys aren't great.

To be Honest I was getting very excited about Holderman he was really starting to impress me than he got hurt, but he is starting his way back.

You have to realize though if the mets are fully healthy playoff time and down the stretch in september. There is a good chance some of our Starter could be bullpen guys, do you think I rather see david peterson who has pitched very well, or chasen shreve pitch innings. Which will make them more difficult because I the mets can use there excess starter, could you imagine megill coming out of bullpen throwing 100 mph heat, I certainly can. In fact I see some of that happening in september if the starters of degromm and scherzer are finally healthy.

The mets are 25-19 against teams over 500, The Braves are 18-18, they played 8 games less, As for Lineup.

They have a landslide at catcher the braves. 1b Goes to Alonso. To me mcneil/lindor is essentially equal to swanson and albies. 3b Riley in a landslide, although Hopefully that homer will wake escobar up, if he plays like his career it wouldn't be such a landslide but this year where has all the offense gone.

DH obviously a landslide for the braves in my opinion, mets get 0 from that position.

OF Obvious Acuna Is the best OF, but After that Nimmo, Marte , and Canha, Might be the next best. I get harris looks promosing but too early to make any judgement yet. And duvall is starting to hit for the power he can. But make no mistake there is nothing wrong with the mets OF of Marte, Canha, and Nimmo, they are all solid starting OF. I still gives the braves the slight edge. But I can't exactly say the mets OF is a weakness.

The mets are one of the best defensive teams in baseball, I can't believe I'm saying that, but it is a fact. They are a excellent base running team, and they are well coached.

Lets face it the mets are going to add to the bullpen and another bat in the lineup at the deadline. I continue to say it would be nice if escobar wakes up from that homer, because if he gets hot and goes back to the player I know he is before he got here, would make the offense much better. All and all the braves have went on a huge run, but we have to recognize during this stretch, They played Arizona, Colorado, Oakland,Pittsburgh, washingon, chicago cubs and Now they are playing cincinatti. They did play the SFG where they won 3/4 to be honest they and the mets are better than the giants. and they lost 2/3 to the dodgers, and they won 2/3 against the phillies who are no without brce harper so I question really how good are they, espeically with there defense and bullpen issues. The division will be decided by the braves/mets head to head (They haven't played each other much) I'm thinking this is gonna be close. I also think who ever is a wc Team has a good shot to make a run, because if the mets are healthy who in the world would want to face Schezer and Degomm in the playoffs. And we both know the bullpen will be added to and starters will probably play a part of the bullpen as well in the postseason for the mets. And the mets will have more offense as well, as you have to figure they add a bat at some point too in my opinion.

The mets at the end of the day there rotation is the strength of the team, in terms of not just the top but the amount of depth they have. The mets are 19 over .500 and have a winning record in every month and as you said degromm/scherzer haven't really helped that much, what if they do in the 2nd half. I think this is going to be close. The braves are very good. The 4 best teams by far are in the NL east and NL west as of right now, and 1 of those 4 will be the NL representative barring something unforessen (Brewers add multiple bats), it really is that simple in my opinion.
