I have a few of Keynes works and he is flawed(great thinker though). And..said piece has some flaws as well(but...can't be perfect). Mainly from the point of "building a new world". Keynes was all about increasing Government expenditures which is what gets us into trouble due to poor management. Our current President has no business in building anything...neither did our previous(plural).

Constructing such a “new world order” will be laborious work. But the alternative is a division of the world into hostile economic and political blocs that comes straight out of the 1930s. Biden, Johnson, Scholz and Macron should think hard about how history will judge them. Do they want to be compared to the policymakers in the aftermath of World War I, who stood by impassively as the world fragmented and monsters seized the reins of power? Or would they rather be compared to their peers after World War II, policymakers who built a much more stable and interconnected world?

Thank you so much for this. Someone posted it elsewhere today. I think when you first posted it, didn't read the whole thing.

It's absolutely terrific, and, in the three years since it was written, it's turned out to be eerily prophetic. Unless rather a lot changes, and changes very soon, we'll only be inviting an even bigger mess than the one we have now.

It should be required reading.
