Probably my worst decision was not purchasing AMGN when I first heard of it, I think it was 1990 for about $15. I followed it through that decade, each time it approached $100 it did a split. All totaled by the end of the decade it split 48 to 1 and was still near $100. I never invested, it hasn't been that good since then, but hasn't been bad recently.

I probably should also have gotten some SGEN years ago, but still believe IMGN represents better potential, so I'm still sticking with it in spite of major gains by SGEN.

I do know people who trade for tiny fractional gains, it's all done by computers and they rarely hold stock overnight. It's not something I'd ever consider doing, but with billions involved the fractional gains add up to a lot of money daily. As I see it, small investors can just hope to be along for the ride when the big boys are manipulating the stocks which they clearly do.
