The problem with TA is it has little predictive ability. It can indicate potential points of inflection. The problem is it doesn't indicate whether they will be up or down inflection points.
The few studies I have come across that have looked at TA traders have found that they don't do any better than other traders.
I trade AVXL and make money doing so. The amount of money I make for the amount of capital I have to use in trading is not enough to support a lifestyle.
I know of two people that make a living on trading. They make trades based on very small moves and do so on a minute to hour basis.
I make money trading on Anavex. I have no real illusions about my trading prowess. The phrase a rising market lifts all boats applies to Anavex. I probably make most of the money I make trading because Anavex is a rising stock. It is not my trading skills even though I'd like to think that the hours I spend in front of a computer count for something.
So good luck with your TA. If it works for you great. For me, not so much.
