SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN? The few studies I have come across that have looked at TA traders have found that they don't do any better than other traders.

What do the other traders use?

Trading is by nature short-term speculation, not investing.

So you have to buy low and sell high

So you look at a chart of where the stock price is, and volume and direction.

Sounds like TA in one form or the other.
