It is always easy to be the Monday morning quarterback. He did what he thought what was best at the time. He did not leave the company but left a position in the company. Why do you keep hammering this????

If I tell you that I'm gonna buy your car and to hold it for me until Friday and I don't buy it (for whatever reason) is that not a lie ?

only if you intended to deceive or convey a false image or impression.

http://www.answers.com/topic/lie

lie2 (lī)
n.
A false statement deliberately presented as being true; a falsehood.
Something meant to deceive or give a wrong impression.

v., lied, ly·ing (lī'ĭng), lies.

v.intr.
To present false information with the intention of deceiving.
To convey a false image or impression: Appearances often lie.
v.tr.
To cause to be in a specific condition or affect in a specific way by telling falsehoods: You have lied yourself into trouble.

I'm done with this thread. If you have a different definition of what a lie is, then I don't know what to tell you.

syrius, I basically agree with your assessment.
