To be fair that isn’t exactly what he said. He wasn’t that stupid…but he did say that the offering price would not be what the “placeholder” price was in that particular S-1/A…$7.65. And given he was saying that against the backdrop of the concerns expressed to him about what was in the S-1/A he was certainly implying it would be higher.
He knew exactly how the imaginations of his marks…err…investors would work.
…and technically he was correct, it wasn’t $7.65. ;-)
