I think speculation regarding UK approval is based on their (nih) stated desire to be a leader in approval of groundbreaking new drugs. I don't think it's anything other than that and as such is pure speculation. Could be wrong though.

well at least we are making progress and now arguing with you who will approve first and not if there will be approval at all.

But I think you are right it could very well be that EMA approves before MHRA, it would not surprise me at all. We had this discussion 8 months ago or so and I showed back then some rules which by EMA for drugs like DCVAX could fast track approve within 6 months.

It’s not my argument, but the UK approved the COVID vaccines well ahead of the EMA, and that happened immediately after BREXIT happened. They are no longer part of the EU. This drug also has special status in the UK that allows it already to be sold to patients, which is an additional UK special for advancing treatments quickly, and then lastly, the UK and special charities are highly focused on Glioblastoma. It’s a bit of a National predisposition to advance treatments and a cure in the UK. I know of no other EU state where it is so often discussed in national media in that manner.

And again, the UK left the EU. It is a bit of a focus that they believe they are more efficient outside of the EU, and one area of focus for them is drug approval. They think they are more efficient and the EMA COVID vaccine delays highlighted their argument. What could have been more urgent than those approvals?

The simple answer to why the UK will approve first is they have less bureaucratic BS.
