Price went up more than 500%, was more like 5000% - I was on it when URL ran that gout trial and got generics kicked off the market, was pennies per pill, they raised it to $6/pilll - bastards! They sold it to Takeda. Have no clue what it was originally approved for decades ago, but gout was off label all that time before URL realized it wasn't FDA approved for that.
