I was thinking since these are levels that can be measured, and knowing that abnormal levels do cause adverse effects on the human body, why not? If through multiple trials, Anavex can show normalization without any SAE, this would provide a path for many off label indications so prescriptions that could be covered by insurance and wouldn't be such a financial burden to the patient.

Looks like anavex is setting up GABA/Glutamate normalization as a potential surrogate endpoint? Problem is, I believe this needs to be a preapproved surrogate endpoint prior to trial start.
