why did management feel compelled to write forward looking guidance in the 2Q 10Q?

Management gave no guidance at all. Guidance contains revenue numbers. Forward looking statements are not guidance. But you are 100% correct in asserting that the Q3 numbers will stand on their own. As we say in Wattsonese, “show me the beef.”

Good luck to us all.

“Words mean NOTHIN: Numbers mean EVERYTHING.”

Totally disagree. Both Words and Numbers are important. What Li has communicated with words in LEGAL documents with the SEC is quite important. Not so much all the deflation speak and interpretations put forth OUTSIDE of those legal documents.

Li said “recurring volume orders that began in July.” I believe him. Volume orders is a synonym for BULK orders. Bulk orders that began in July have had three months of accumulating revenue for Liquidmetal.

I doubt Li communicated news of recurring Bulk orders to bring in revenue for 3rd quarter because he wants to somehow deflate investors expectations. Seems quite the CONTRARY to me.

I put a whole lot more trust in Li’s words TO THE SEC that the CALL after CALL after CALL to 0.9’s.

Last week was another picture of the FAILED call to 0.09’s once again.

I wait patiently for the next 10Q to undergird with numbers exactly what Li already said in the last 10Q about recurring volume orders that began in July. A VERY IMPORTANT STRING OF WORDS INDEED!
