Yes perception is everything and perception doesn't match reality when it comes to Tesla. Its already signifcantly overvalued. Needs much greater revenue to justify its current valuation.

For now its battery tech is part of a pollution problem. I know Musk intends on this changing but until that happens I dont agree EVs are a positive enviornmentally speaking.

Musk can keep dripping the price of EVs, but it's not just price. There is a lack of charging infrastructure to put EVs on par with ICE. There is a significant charge time just to get the car to 80%. While a few EVs say they can get 400mi the truth is they get maybe 320 if you keep batteries between 10-90%. Without the charging structure in place this is an issue.

Most importantly our electric grid isnt ready for massive EV adoption. As we transition more to solar/wind this is onlyo.o going to get worse.

Solid State batteries is what will lead to massive EV adoption and these arent due until mid decade. Since ICE vehicles are not causing climate change people should wait to switch until the back half of the decade rather than buy a car now and then another in 5 years. There are plenty of cars currently out there to drive.
