raistthemage, There is no way for us to know. Keep in mind there is
always a (small) chance that a hostile bid can be made for the company.
Of course, for all we know there could be a deal in the works already,
or even a deal that may not have been presented to AMRN management yet.
So it is impossible to know that for certain.

The way I see it is so long as AMRN does not do a JV for Europe then
my "hope" for a BO is still alive. Should AMRN announce a JV with
a BP for Europe then that would reduce the odds of a BO. At least
that is the way I am looking at the situation.

I feel like I've said this before, but my personal thought is that we either see a buyout by early October or we are completely boned.

I suspect they were approached after the initial loss and there were offers on the table, win or lose. One would hope that they are forced into a $15 or so buyout ASAP before they can run the company into the ground further. $15 is fair value for the company, not because it's what Vascepa is worth, but its what Amarin is worth after it was shredded by the incompetent management team.

Also, as others have said, they haven't specifically said GIA is the only option, in fact, in one of the first interviews, JT said they would do a buyout for the right price. The problem right now is, does JT know when to fold the cards and sell? I'd hope that he's forced into, even if he isn't quite willing here. Even the hiring on the Mikhail guy could facilitate a buyout to a European based company which would make sense on lawsuit loss. Sell to a company with a heavy EU base, where they could focus, plus USA sales are an additional bonus.

Also, as much as it would make me stiff to see JT fired, I don't think we see that. Either it's sold, or they retain JT because I highly doubt any CEO is going to want to try to come on board and salvage this sinking ship. Most would see GIA as a disaster and avoid coming on board.
