I.e.--Judge Du is now a serial patent killer.

Did she get overturned on appeal on this one?

One wonders whether the Covington team took much cognisance of DU’s past patent decision record in the way in which they failed to pursue their Amarin litigation with a cover all leave no stone unturned approach
Given what rested on the Du decision (and certainly with hindsight -forgive the expression) so much more could and should have been done

SME = ?

Hard to believe that she ruled the way she did in that other case - there is no comparison to having to visit two machines in order to pay for something and also get cash vs. having one machine do both - she said having to take one drug, V, instead of L + statin was an advantage for AMRN - how is that much different? And very few POS systems that take debit cards allow you to withdraw cash at the same time - the only place I know I can do that is at Giant, where the POS machine is dual use, also an ATM - that's where I always get cash, not at the bank or another ATM. How can such a delightful and convenient machine not deserve a patent? I'd bet that only one company makes those machines too - Dayton's National Cash Register Corp (NRC) used to utterly dominate that sector.
