I don’t agree that soft lock suggests management has no idea what they are doing, though I have no doubt that shorts will spin anything, including standout TLD as a disaster.

But I do think if they have some inkling that they will have hard lock by Friday, PR’ing soft lock on Monday, Weds or Thursday is counterproductive and undercuts the impact of hard lock. That would probably be not all that helpful, though shorts would love to wrong foot them and make that happen. Some probably have fever dreams of doing just that.
