The drug is not a cure.. it’s just the most effective treatment for the deadliest symptoms from the virus. it’s not an antiviral it won’t do anything to kill the virus in patients. It has a multibillion dollar valuation because they are within six months of multibillion dollar revenues relative to its HIV application additionally they have a basket of cancer applications that they are on the cusp of breakthrough designation.. over a half 1 million people died of swine flu back in 2009 and the primary cause was ARDS... most elderly patients with pneumonia die of ARDS at the very least we have stumbled into another multi billion dollar application... truly a miracle molecule

OGREASEARCH

In response to your question below. More people will die from Covid 19 than Hepatitis C, yet Gilead bought Pharmhassett for 13 Billion and saw a resulting Market Cap increase of 40 Billion as a result of the buyout.

Other recent 10 Billion buyouts include Juno and Kite Pharma.

Covid 19 is here now, flying south in a few months to the Southern Hemisphere, and coming back in early 2021. Without a vaccine which is 12 months out, the money will be in the treatment that saves not only US lives but around the world. There are billions of revenues here. And world recognition. A $7-10 Billion buyout would make sense. I see suitors like ABBV, Abbot, Lily, PFE, GSK, GILD, BMY, MRK, JNJ, and the list goes on.

Oh and you get HIV and Cancer too.

If you respond to this post, please show some knowledge/research.

Your post:
“Yes, ARDS is one of the severe symptoms, leronlimab might help treat those complications, however their are no claims that leronlimab will cure Coronavirus. I don't understand the multi billion dollar market cap here, the uses for leronlimab as it relates to Coronavirus seem to have limited upside”

Change might to does. If you don't know the science and all the indications, just sit in the back of class until you learn.
