It’s a functional work around. It prevents the cytokine storm which in turn prevents lung fibrosis, inflammation, fluid in the lungs, pneumonia, and allows the patient the ability to fight off the disease without the major inflammatory response which is the reason people die. It doesn’t have to kill the virus to be a functional cure.
