Milk can be frozen.

Dad worked at a grocery store when I was growing up. He would bring home several gallons a week, at a discount when they were getting close to sell by date. You have to take some out to allow for expansion, it will separate, but just shake the jug to remix. It may have altered the flavor or texture, but we never noticed it. And with 5 kids, it wasn't around long enough for the expiration date to matter much.

I don't think you can freeze milk ...

You apparently can. But you can only do it once. If you don't use it all after defrosting, you can't refreeze it.

I don't remember where I read about that, but it was a long discussion somewhere.

I don't drink milk but I cook with it, so I buy a gallon, put 1/2 cup in each hole of a muffin tin and put it in the freezer. When it's frozen I wrap each white hockey puck in plastic wrap so they don't freeze together and put them in a ziplock bag. I have refrozen the pucks many times, and they seem OK, but I'm not drinking it so I don't know if the taste is altered/
