Tony Giardini, President, Ivanhoe Mines (OTCQX: IVPAF)

Ivanhoe Mines has three world-scale, high-grade, joint- venture mining projects under development in Southern Africa; the Kamoa-Kakula copper project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); the Kipushi zinc-copper project also in DRC; and the Platreef palladium-platinum-nickel-copper-rhodium- gold project in South Africa.

Kamoa-Kakula is scheduled to be Ivanhoe Mines first producing mine, with initial copper production planned for the third quarter of 2021. When fully developed, Kamoa Kakula could produce up to 700,000 tonnes of copper a year, which would make it the world’s second largest copper mine. The Platreef and Kipushi projects also are being advanced towards production.

Ivanhoe is uniquely positioned for success with three high-grade, long-life deposits that put the company on a path to becoming a large, diversified mining company. While Ivanhoe now is transitioning to becoming an operator, it still has tremendous exploration potential on its 100%-owned Western Foreland exploration ground right next door to Kamoa-Kakula.

Ivanhoe Mines has financially-strong Asian shareholders and partners in Citic Metal, Zijin Mining and Itochu. Learn More.
