Canadian Companies Required to Retain a Transfer Agent that Participates in the Transfer Agent Verified Shares Program by April 1

New rules effective April 1, 2020 will require Canadian companies traded on OTCQX and OTCQB to retain a transfer agent that participates in the Transfer Agent Verified Shares Program, following the implementation for US companies in 2019. This program provides reliable share data to investors of OTCQX and OTCQB securities by allowing participating transfer agents to submit verified shares outstanding information on a regular basis for their clients directly to OTC Markets Group. We have contacted all transfer agents servicing Canadian OTCQX and OTCQB companies to inform them of this program. We recommend that Canadian companies contact their transfer agent directly to confirm their status as participants.
