Vascepa is not an STD antibiotic...it’s to treat chronic metabolic syndrome. Syndromes last longer than 12 weeks...they are genetic based. BB

Bouf. Would you ever prescribe Vascepa for 10 wks to a patient at risk of pancreatitis ..TG's over 500mg/dl and at the same demand a change in diet and lifestyle ....possibly with a generic statin thrown in if they were " pear " shaped body profile .
Dr Reddy seems to me to be making the argument that Vascepa can be prescribed for less then 12 wks for a patient at risk of pancreatitis ..and at the same time diet and lifestyle changes are mandated ....and after 10 wks if the patient has been able to change diet and life style ...and the follow up lipid panel showed a significant drop in TG's ....the Vascepa could be discontinued until you see how the patient does on diet and exercise changes alone on a follow up lipid panel 10 wks later

Thats my take on Dr Reddy's argument
