Hicks and Conforto are not the same, not even close. Conforto is a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better hitter.

His OPS is waaaaaaaaaaaay higher, His OBP is Higher, and he hits in a much tougher ballpark so the comp isn't great. Yes hicks will play CF versus conforto who is a RF so that isn't even a great comp. Hicks is a decent player problem is he is always hurt. Always. And Conforto played 151 games. Conforto when you watch Him, plays like a borderline All Star, he is streaky, he will get obp with the mid to upper 300's. He will hit you 30-35 homers, plays a good RF, but he will be streaky. But at the end of the day those are solid numbers in Yankees stadium the guy would hit 45 homers.

Mcneil, I don't think mcniel is a better player than betts not even close, but I think he will do more for my team over 5 years, versus betts would do for 1. If Evoldi was out of the trade I would consider it more.

This is also simply a trade that is creating holes at 3b, hamstringing the team to fix other problems. You see this isn't about betts, mcniel. This is about is the team better or worse.

Leaving and OF of JD Davis, Nimmo, and Conforto, Or having betts, and either sitting davis or nimmo, and having no 3b, or putting a defensively challenged 3b in JD. And not being able to resign wheeler, and maybe fix the bullpen. Not denying betts is a great player, just saying the team under that scenario would be worse because the evoldi contract would stop them from fixing the real problems and would create a huge whole at 3b in the process. So it is not that I think Mcneil is great, although a very good player, it is that I think he is my only answer at 3b, and If I trade him and have no way to add payroll than means I have holes at 3b, SP, and Bullpen, where before I would be able to take that money and fill in the holes in the bullpen, backup catcher, starting pitcher, etc, with the money I would be paying betts and evoldi. It is not hard to believe I am a mets fan that want to see the best team out there, and fixing the holes on the roster with the resources is better served than creating more holes and using the limited resources by upgrading a position that was solid to great, but making a ton of more wholes on the roster. That makes 0 sense to me in my opinion.

GIO URSHELLA IS A WAY BETTER PLAYER, FIELDER, HITTER THAN HICKS TOO ... HICKS IS GOOD PLAYER, URSHELLA IS A BUDDING STAR WHO NEEDS MORE STAMINA TO PLAY 150+ GAMES IMHO ...
