It looks like the Repair Station, Xtra Aerospace of Miramar, Fla. was not even supposed to have worked on the AOA sensor in the first place.

According to the FAA: "Xtra failed to comply with requirements to repair only aircraft parts on list of parts acceptable to the FAA that it was capable of repairing."
