an advance notice by the sec would give insiders the opportunity to dump shares. that's why there is no advance notice.

Dorckschnott: The SEC does give warnings on their website, often hilited in black, that SEC Registrant companies are obligated to file timely Financials and relevant Filings, and failure to do so WILL LIKELY result in an SEC Suspension and consequent revocation of the delinquent company's stock registration(s).

Proper due diligence for every stock investor is to see if a company is current in their filing obligations.

First mandatory due diligence is on EDGAR to determine if a stock is registered with the SEC and if they are current.

*** In the search box do not include any company suffix, eg., Corp., Inc., Ltd., Co., etc.

https://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html

The second mandatory due diligence is to peruse the SEC Suspensions link to see what happens to SEC Registrant stocks that are severely delinquent in the filing obligations, particularly Financials.

https://www.sec.gov/litigation/suspensions.shtml

A shortcut for some due diligence is to thoroughly read and completely comprehend the posts on a board I established ~ 10 years ago:

https://investorshub.advfn.com/SEC-Suspensions-&-Revocations-25334/

https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=145804334

So, there are ample warnings out there if any investor takes the time to look.

It is too late once the SEC guillotine Suspension occurs.

"Recovering investment" just means someone else would be stuck with shares. Although, if SEC did give a specific warning, it's unlikely there would be any buyers to sell to. Regardless of when the SEC suspends, SOMEBODY is stuck with shares.

"...However, why doesn't the SEC, not iHub posters, send a warning of upcoming Suspension/Halt of the security to allow investors the ability to recover all or partial initial investment? ..."

The easiest thing to do for the SEC sometimes is to suspend a ticker like LAHO for delinquent filings. Thats because delinquent filers don't have any excuse for the tardiness.
Behind the scenes there may be other circumstances and authorities in play that no one may be made aware of. The SEC does work with the FBI and other government agencies regarding corporate fraud. We may never know.
