Raf, Here is just some idle speculation:

Let's say that AMRN and its law firm have something
potentially damaging on Nissen/MRC. The way they signal
that to the FDA is to request what they did...and then rescind
the request. ( A way of saying we have something those guys
might not like, but we will use it if they cause us issues.)
In other words, if you play hard ball with us we are in a position
to play right back.) I would also expect that AMRN has private
investigators looking into these folks and are looking for where
money could have been exchanged. Maybe they found something.
Even if they didn't, with Nissen, Pyrr, and whomever else out
there who might be dirty in some way...they might have to think
twice before they do anything more damaging if they think AMRN
might have something on them.

Absolutely bizarre that Amarin would retract their FOIA request.

Can't help but wonder WHY:

Someone said, "Cancel the rest. We got what we needed."?

raf...

Here is my guess...Amarin went with the FOIA requests when they thought the FDA was screwing them over..And then they talked to the FDA and learned the FDA's actions..The ADCom and the sNDA extension were not acts of punishment, but were rather the consequences of the heat that was being put on them by these Democrat Senators...forcing them to stick to protocol...and booking no short cuts...

The good news is FDA is not out to get us..
