This is an excellent point. And is probably the best explanation for why naked shorting on scale doesn't occur.

There are a number of just logical reasons why naked shorting in the way it's discussed on this MB would be difficult to exist.

I have no disagreement with that.

But does that imply there is some huge undisclosed illegal short position out there?

If this was the case, then somebody owns these counterfeit shares. They will be retail small investors as brokers like E*Trade, Fidelity , Merryl ...

So when this huge $100B liability hits, it is those brokers who will have to cough up. As it was illegal, they cam not pass the hat.

And this is just one small bio. What about all the others?

Do you really think these players are that friggen dumb as to allow that?

Just go back and see what happened to Dendreon when they completed their first phase 3. There was a massive short position and when the advisory panel voted overwhelmingly to recommend approval the stock price got away from the shorts. Then what happened ? There was a massive and coordinated campaign including some scientists who were working on competing treatments who wrote letters to the FDA not to approve, AF doing his usual thing, etc. The FDA then sent Dendreon back to do another phase 3. That's what happened and that's how the shorts escaped. All fact, no fiction.

That's why I think LP will either partner or sell DCVax-L when topline is announced. There is no way that the shorts will allow the price to appreciate significantly from this level if NWBO is still independent and alone. They will do everything they can. They have shown that they can do this before. I know that LP knows this.

Yes, and it wouldn't be the first time wall street players were overcome by greed and over indulged: 2008 financial crisis.

I have no disagreement with that.

Last Friday when the pps went 24.5c and was about to cross 25c, all on a sudden NITE offered 250k shares at around 23c until 24.5 got slapped and walked it down to close around 23c. What do you call these sharers? I bet they are phantom ones. What the heck, just float it. Try every way to bk this stock or just screw it out - that is the mentality of these NSS players. Like SOS said they now want the trial to fail. And when they see topline results and efficacy, they will try everything in the book to kill the price action to steal the Company cheap, imo. When will they stop? Do you know Ex?
