I don't know if there even were any questions about MCAS. Training programs and their content are the responsibility of the operator. But the system is described in Boeing's literature.

The MCAS was only doing what an apparently improperly calibrated AOA sensor was telling it to do. The fact that a 20 degree split between AOA indications on the accident airplane's next to the last flight wasn't directly addressed by maintenance seems appallingly inexcusable.

One thing not addressed in the preliminary report is Lion Air's 'pass down' procedures. The two pilots on the fatal flight should have been fully aware of what the crew on that previous flight had experienced as well as any maintenance procedures that had been accomplished to correct those issues. The glaring question is: Were they?
