The median HDL-C in R-IT was 40mg/DL... the median in STRENGTH probably won't be far off that given the requirements were < 42 for men and < 47 for women
People with f'ed up cholesterol and trigs also tend to have bad HDL-C
I'm sticking to my prediction that STRENGTH, IF it survives the futility hurdle at 75% of events, has RRR between 8% and 10%.
Doh! That data was right in front of us from 11/10 AHA slides but nobody pointed it out - thanks for contacting IR to get that new to me presentation, hadn't seen that before. Looking over the table on pg 17 again, I'm still puzzled by the lack of efficacy in diabetic vs. non diabetic population, although the data isn't stat sig. - maybe later publications will show different and better results for non diabetics vs. non diabetics with metabolic syndrome.
